IN THE WIND WITH GOD

The moon is blowing against the wind
The wind is blowing against the stars
in my face
Behind my back I can see
the half-moon coming conjunct with Mars
pale blood-star

The wind blows through the Milky Way
the meadow of ashes flows & flashes
like river fish
through the cellular stream of scrub oak leaves
the moonlit thickets boiling up
the mountain roiling in the wind

The clouds crawling up from the south
look huge & dark & are full of bright holes
